Summary: Several months after Out of the Dark, Sam is trying to control his new-found powers, Dean is struggling to find his footing, John is spiraling deeper into depression left behind after his ordeal, Gabe is trying to piece together the strange reports of supernatural activity and recover from his own injuries and all around them the supernatural world is closing in.

A/Ns & Warnings: Offered up for varkelton on the occassion of her birthday. This is the first part to a possibly three to four part arc that I will hopefully get finished before my surgery. This is Broken, so there will be memory of rape and torture, these characters are far from whole, though progress has been made. There will be brother/brother incest as well as other sexual content, though in this section it's only Gabe/Caleb.

The State of Phantisma

After my most recent poll, I realized that there's a bunch of ya'll who don't read my personal journal, and so are not up on all the latest happenings. Seeing as there's going to be some...stuff...going down that will affect my ability to fic, I thought I should take some time to update ya'll (pardon me while my inner Texan comes out).

On July 18th at approximately 9am, I will be having surgery to repair a pinched nerve in my right elbow. This will mean that my ability to use a computer will be impaired. For at least two weeks I will be limited to one hand, with minimal use of the right after that for a few weeks. Of course, I'm not really one who pays attention to "rules" but I do listen to my body, so if it hurts in a bad way, I won't do it.

What this means is:

1) I will be attempting to write birthday fics between now and then. I may post a few early because at least that way I know they get out.

2) I will be working on my Broken arc and my J3 table over the next few weeks as well. My hope is to finish the Broken arc before the surgery. I am also struggling to finish some ficathon entries between now and then.

3) I will not be posting fic much between the seventeenth and the end of the month.

4) If you want to keep updated on my progress, I'll be posting in amara_m when I can. As an added bonus, I'll be typing one handed and under the influence of heavy doses of drugs! Feel free to point fingers and giggle. And consider this an invitation to read me over there. I don't generally mind.

5) I apologize in advance for the delay on WIPs, including Courtesan, Don't Think We're in Kansas, etc.


So there it is. Beyond that, and this annoying cold sore on my lip, I'm doing pretty good. I'll be spending my down time looking for a new job, recording my book to put on CDs to sell, and getting dragged into new fandoms. When I return, I anticipate a writing frenzy. In the meantime, I've got work to do!
