I know I've been a little AWOL lately
Sep. 7th, 2013 10:12 amAnd I apologize. I'm working on a lengthy story that's sort of eaten my brain but needs a lot of work. I'll be posting soon.
In the meantime, my birthday is less than a week away, and I'm doing a Crowdrise fundraiser for my birthday to benefit Heifer International. So far I've raised $145. which will purchase 7 flocks of geese, ducks or chicks. Can you help us make it 8?
Heifer is an organization that provides livestock and training to families in impoverished states. I choose the birds because each flock is only $20, and they provide multiple benefits. With Heifer, the families that receive the animals also are required to pass on the gift out of the generations of offspring, so the gift grows and because birds reproduce quickly, it spreads more quickly.
The smallest donation the site accepts is $10...but if you can spare it, I would appreciate it. I want my 45th birthday to have meaning.
Here's a link. It's really fast and easy.
