The obligatory Wincon Posting!

I can't believe I leave tomorrow already! Where has the time gone?



I will be arriving on Southwest Airlines tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 8:25. That should get me to the hotel between 9 and 9:30, depending on how quickly luggage gets out and how easy the hotel shuttle is to find/catch.

I am there until early monday morning. I fly out on Southwest at 8:50am.

The rest of that time, I am at the hotel.





I am working on the registration desk on Friday from 2-3pm and again on Saturday from 9-10am.

I am on two panels this year (just call me a joiner! LOL).

On Friday at 4 I will be joining missyjack, beanside, brynwulf, thenyxie and waterofthemoon for "Don't Try to Deny Their Epic Romance - RPS in Supernatural Fandom". I am told there will be tinhat making and fashion parade...or something.

On Saturday at 12 noon, I will by joining the_ellcrys and black_regalia for "The Fastest Way to get SPN Fans to Throw Things at Each Other: A Discussion of Sexism and Misogyny in Supernatural", which could prove to be a very interesting 50 minutes. For reference, the_ellcrys will be modding the conversation while black_regalia will argue the "Yes, SPN is misogynistic" side of things...which leaves me the "No, I don't think it is" end of things. This is my one thinky sort of thing. I'm trying to get my thoughts together for it.

I am rooming on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the_ellcrys and denyce. We will be having story time at some point. I think we're talking about doing a Pizza, Pajamas and Porn party on Saturday night. We'll spread the word when we know for sure.

Thursday night I'll be crashing with dragojustine while my friend denyce crashes with sophie_448...or vice versa. We're still working out the details.

Other than that, just look for the redhead wearing Jeffrey Dean Morgan. LOL...If you haven't met me before, I'll describe me. I'm 5'2" and about 250 pounds (read that as round). I have freshly colored red hair that hangs just past my shoulders, green eyes and very pale skin. I also have a big strip of black tape on my arm covering my surgical scar. I'll be in jeans most of the weekend and t-shirts with pictures of our boys on them. Friday for sure it will be a shirt with JDM on the front and JA and JP on the back. I have some social anxiety. It has been a lot better lately, but it can spring on me unexpectedly. If you see me in a crowd of people and I looke pale and shaky, or I go non-verbal, it is likely that I have a panic attack coming on. Please to make room and allow me to an exit. Usually I only need a few minutes of air and space to be okay again.

I also have diabetes. I need to eat at regular intervals. When I don't...strange things can happen. I get spacey and disconnected. I can get dizzy and sick to my stomach. I am not offended if you stop me to ask me if I've eaten. Sometimes I need to be reminded, particularly when I'm having a good time.

I read tarot cards and I am bringing my cards with me. I will be happy to read for you if you find me at a time when I'm not in the middle of something...and I accept gifts in return. Most of you know my financial situation isn't good right now, and if I hadn't already paid for my plane tickets months ago, I probably wouldn't be going to Wincon at all. A celtic cross reading (which is what most people think of when you say tarot) is generally $25 if I'm doing it at an event or something. I don't expect anyone to pay me that, but I will take snacks, trinkets, raffle tickets, drinks (I drink rum and diet coke) etc in exchange. (kind of like Burning Man without the playa dust). This offer is good all Sunday afternoon too!

I am also bringing CDs of "In Service" with me. I have twenty copies burned, labeled and signed and ready to go. I will probably throw in whatever I have left of "Rysykk's Rise" too. I am donating one copy of "In Service" to the raffle, maybe two. I'm offering the rest of them for $5 each for this weekend only. I'll try to have them on me all weekend. I'm hoping to sell them all, because it could mean the difference between eating and not eating when I get back from Wincon. If I happen to sell out and more people want them, I will take orders for the five dollars, plus $2 for shipping and handling, and mail them out as soon as I get home and burn them. The cds are self-starting files with a menu and the book itself is in .pdf format.

By all means, say hello! I know one or two people last year didn't because they were intimidated or something. I promise I won't bite...unless you ask me to, and even then we'll negotiate first. I'm pretty laid back and happy to be with people who think like me and can talk to about the prettiness of our boys. This is particularly true if you come bearing the JDM love. My love for that man knows no bounds. None. I have no shame when it comes to him.



What else is there to say? I need to pack. Well, I need to finish unpacking in order to pack. Or something like that. *ponders the best way to bring alcohol*

I also need to get a hold of the disibility office today and make sure that they got my change of address. Wouldn't want to come back to no check!
